Lara Coker is the General Counsel as well as the General Manager, External Communications of Shoreline Natural Resources Ltd. Prior to joining Shoreline, she was the Company Secretary and Legal Adviser of a publicly listed company for over 5 years.
Lara is a graduate of King’s College London where she holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Commercial/Corporate Law. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Law and Politics from the University of Keele.
Lara has over three decades of Business Advisory, Tax, corporate and commercial as well as Litigation experience having worked in one of Nigeria’s leading commercial law firm and in a “Big four” professional services firm. She is an alumnus of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and the Women on Boards Program at IE Business School.
She was listed as one of Africa’s leading and most influential in-house counsel in the Corporate Counsel 100: Africa in 2015. She has also been named on the Legal 500 General Counsel Powerlist Africa.
She is a member of the Institute of Directors (IoD) Nigeria, the Nigerian Bar Association and is also an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) as well as a Notary Public. She enjoys mentoring young women in career.
